A yoga pose at sunrise

Wellness

india’s oldest gift: how to be well.

Yoga, Ayurveda and meditation, in the land where they began. Practised with masters, in places made for rest.

Why India

long before wellness was a word, india had a science for it.

Yoga, the union of body and breath. Ayurveda, the knowledge of life. Meditation, the art of a quiet mind. They are still practised here every day, in homes, ashrams and family clinics, by teachers who learned them from their own teachers.

Four ways to be well

body, breath, mind and table.

Yoga

Daily practice with a teacher who adapts every session to you, whether it is your first class or your thousandth.

Ayurveda

Treatments chosen for you after a consultation with a vaidya, a doctor of Ayurveda.

Meditation and breath

Pranayama and guided meditation in the quiet hours of the day.

Food that restores

Simple, seasonal, nourishing meals, cooked the Ayurvedic way.

A warm oil treatment for the forehead, part of an Ayurvedic ritual

Ayurveda

a consultation, then a ritual made for you.

Your days begin with a conversation with a vaidya, who asks how you sleep, eat and feel. From there, treatments are chosen for you: abhyanga, a warm oil massage given by two therapists in rhythm; shirodhara, a slow stream of warm oil across the forehead; herbal steam, and quiet afternoons.

Ayurvedic treatments are offered for rest and wellbeing, not as medical care. Tell us about any health conditions when you plan, and we will share them with your vaidya.

Yoga and meditation

practice at the pace of the morning.

Sunrise yoga on a rooftop, by a river or in a palace garden. Breathing practice and meditation as the light changes. Evenings left free, or spent listening to the music that was made for stillness.
