This policy explains how The Travel Saints uses cookies and similar technologies on thetravelsaints.com, and how you can control them. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit it. They help the website work, remember your choices and, if you agree, tell us how visitors use the site. Similar technologies, such as local storage, work in the same way, and this policy covers them too.
Some cookies are set by us (“first-party cookies”). Others are set by services we use, such as Google Analytics (“third-party cookies”).
2. Your choices
When you first visit our website, a banner asks which cookies you are happy for us to use. Essential cookies are always on, because the website cannot work safely without them. Statistics and marketing cookies are off until you switch them on.
You can change your mind at any time by clicking “Manage consent” at the foot of any page. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it.
We respect the Global Privacy Control signal: if your browser sends it, we treat it as a refusal of statistics and marketing cookies.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block essential cookies, some parts of the website may not work properly. Guidance is available from your browser’s help pages, or from allaboutcookies.org.
3. The cookies we use
Essential cookies (always on)
These keep the website secure and working, and remember your cookie choices. They do not track you across other websites.
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
| cmplz_* (for example cmplz_banner-status, cmplz_consented_services, cmplz_policy_id, cmplz_preferences, cmplz_statistics, cmplz_marketing) | thetravelsaints.com (Complianz) | Remember your cookie choices so that we do not ask again on every page | 365 days |
| __cf_bm | Cloudflare | Tells people from automated bots, to protect the website from attacks | 30 minutes |
| cf_clearance | Cloudflare | Remembers that you passed a security check | Up to 1 year |
| wordpress_test_cookie, wordpress_logged_in_*, wordpress_sec_*, wp-settings-* | thetravelsaints.com (WordPress) | Used only when our team logs in to manage the website. Not set for visitors. | Session to 1 year |
| wfwaf-authcookie-* | thetravelsaints.com (Wordfence) | Website firewall check for logged-in team members. Not set for visitors. | 12 hours |
| _lscache_vary | thetravelsaints.com (LiteSpeed) | Makes sure logged-in team members see up-to-date pages rather than cached copies | Session |
Statistics cookies (only with your consent)
These help us understand how many people visit, which pages they read and which countries they come from, so that we can improve the website. The information is collected in a way that does not directly identify you, and IP addresses are not stored by Google Analytics 4.
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
| _ga | Google Analytics | Distinguishes one visitor from another | 2 years |
| _ga_ | Google Analytics | Keeps track of your current visit | 2 years |
We have set Google Analytics to keep data for 14 months. Learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Marketing cookies (only with your consent)
We do not use marketing or advertising cookies at present. If we add them in future (for example, to measure advertising on social media), they will only be set with your consent, and this policy will be updated first.
Embedded content
Some pages may include videos or maps from other services, such as YouTube or Google Maps. These services may set their own cookies. We block them until you give consent, and show a placeholder in their place. Links to WhatsApp, Calendly, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube and our sister site Pilgrimages take you to those services, whose own privacy and cookie policies apply.
4. How cookie rules differ by country
In the European Union, statistics cookies require your consent. In the United Kingdom, the law now allows cookies used only to produce statistics for improving a website without prior consent, as long as you are told about them and can object easily. In India, we ask for consent under the DPDP Act. To keep things simple and fair for everyone, we ask all visitors for consent before setting statistics cookies, wherever they live.
5. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when the cookies on our website change. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
